Low influence on insulin
The main reason of extra weight is insulin resistance, when a cell refuses to accept nutrients due to the high insulin level. Sugar and carbohydrates are the main reasons of high insulin level and insulin resistance. That is why all Melts Chocolate recipes are “NO ADDED SUGAR” and have low content of carbohydrates, consequently having very minor influence on insulin.
No maltitol
How often do you see the inscription “NO ADDED SUGAR”, hoping your chocolate bar is really healthy? This happens often, however search for the ingredient, called “MALTITOL”. And if you find one – consider yourself cheated! Manufacturers choose Maltitol, which has almost identical taste to white sugar, because Maltitol has less calories, which most of chocolate producers declare as important advantage. Maltitol is a sugar substance that has almost the same glycemic index as ordinary white sugar and Maltitol provokes number of side effects, such as, for instance, stomach disorders. You have to know – consuming Maltitol is equal to consuming white sugar. In Melts Chocolate we use only erythritol – completely healthy sugar substance with ZERO glycemic index and ZERO influence on insulin!
